I have been testing board topics and after a specific user posts a comment on a topic when they click the edit button it just takes them back to the top of the page instead of editing the comment they have posted. How can I fix this?

This sounds unusual. Could you send me the forum URL (you can send via our support page if the forum is private) and I can take a look.
A common solution for reply editing is to install an inline editing comment plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-comment-editing/ which should allow your users to edit the comments directly from the frontend of your website.
This is actually a feature we're currently working on and should be shipping soon with the plugin.

I have that plugin enabled and it doesn't seem to work with posts on your discussion boards.
