Hello, we are setting up Discussion Boards but we want to allow users to search for certain topics prior to create a new one, just in case there is one for that topic already.
Is there any searching functionalities available?

Thanks for you inquiry! I'm afraid we haven't added that feature just yet, but it's been submitted in our list of features or change requests to be considered by our developers for future releases.
However, you can use a 3rd part search plugin.

Sorry, any suggestions on the search plugin?
The WordPress has its default Search widget and you can place in the sidebar and as for the 3rd party search plugin I would suggest Ivory Search or Better Search.
