Hi Troy
You just need to enter your licence key in Discussion Board > Settings. You'll also need to download the zip for the Pro version and upload it to your site.

hey hey - i think i figured it out. i'll let you know. thanks Gareth. I believe a site I love uses discussionboard pro so i'm hoping to replicate their feel and success.
