Hi

I’ve installed Discussion Board Pro however there are some issues.

  1. The WP login page has disappeared and been replaced by a login for DBP. I’d like to keep the WP login and password protect the pages where the boards appear so people don’t need to login in order to view and enter discussions. How can I do this please?
  2. I installed the short code on a page but whenever I click the link I get a 404: https://www.3dcoaching.com/?page_id=4953&preview=true Do you know why this would be?
  3. I set up a test topic ( https://www.3dcoaching.com/discussion-topics/test-topic/) and added 5 replies. I can see these replies as comments in the Dashboard but when I go to the topic page the comments/replies don’t display. Can you tell me how to fix this please?

Thanks

Claire

  • Hi

    1. Just deselect the option in Discussion Board > Settings > General tab to override the standard wp login page.

    2. It looks like you might not have published the page or you're trying to access it from a preview link.

    3. Do the comments require approval?

    Hi

Thanks for getting back to me

    1. Just deselect the option in Discussion Board > Settings > General tab to override the standard wp login page.

See the screen grab - like this?

    2. It looks like you might not have published the page or you're trying to access it from a preview link.

    The page is published

    3. Do the comments require approval?

Where so I set this. If it's as in the screen grab then the comments don't need approval?

If I set you up with a login would it help if you took a look?

  • 1. Looks like you have fixed this. The link to the standard WP log-in page worked fine for me just now.

    2. The Boards page looks to be working fine at https://www.3dcoaching.com/board-test/. The link you provided in the original post was a special preview link that WordPress uses. Maybe this was why it didn't seem to be working correctly?

    3. Okay, I can see that the comments are approved because the page at https://www.3dcoaching.com/discussion-topics/test-topic/ has 5 replies. I think the comments are not showing because of the way the theme is built - the single.php template only has the comments form, it doesn't display any comments. You can see this on a standard post - https://www.3dcoaching.com/3d-juggling-696-dvd-buttons/ - which has a comment attributed to it, yet the comment isn't displaying.
